Travel Adventures

For someone that could barely claim to have traveled as far as my own back yard, I have taken on the challenge to see just how many miles is enough.  During my adventures, I have found that I have a tendency to be in situations that some, if not all would find comical and even hilarious at times.

I am far behind on reporting all my stops.  When I was travling for an IBM Business Partner, I got to go places that one would not normally travel to without specific reasons.  Off the top of my head, I have seen:

Kauai (Honeymoon)
Walt Disney World
Louisville, KY
Washington, D.C.
Boston, MA
Indianapolis, IN
Dallas, TX
Houston, TX
Chicago (obviously)
Augusta, GA (No golfing included)
and more that escape me.

The best yet came in February 2010.  Abby and I traveled to Chaing Mai, Thailand (pictures coming soon).  9,000 miles, 4 flights, 1 monster layover and extreme jetlag - EACH WAY!  The highlights are too many to list, but include being blessed by a Monk, spending a day at an Elephant reserve (yah, we fed and rode an elephant), running through the Seattle airport, finding friends at a random spot in Tokyo and more.  Abby taught me that it is possible to cram a weeks worth of shopping into a single suitcase.  I taught Abby that one man can eat a quarter pounder, two filet mignon steaks, rolls and more in a single sitting.  I am not sure they will ever be able to fix that toilet on that plane.  I learned that Americans might think they can drive, but I would not have had a chance in H-E-*-* to survive on the streets of Thailand.  What they think is normal driving conditions there would equate to something more like a Nascar race combined with a professional version of Frogger.  Of course that did not stop Abby and I from stepping into an open-air high speed bumper car to travel from the safety of the night market back to our hotel.
     More to come soon.....
